Coordinator I: $78,500.24-$100,188.40

Coordinator II: $ 88,313.16-$112,712.60

General Summary

Coordinator I:

This is the working level class in the Coordinator series. Employees in this class assist higher level program coordinators, management or supervisory/management staff members in various program tasks and projects covering a range of issues associated with program assignments. In addition, the Coordinator I is assigned ongoing projects or areas of responsibility. Assignments are made under general supervision, allowing the Coordinator I latitude in managing and completing ongoing projects/assignments. Assignments and objectives are set for the employee and established work methods are to be followed. Employees have some flexibility in the selection of steps and timing of a work process. Work review is occasional during progress and upon completion. Normally, the employee is responsible for handling routine work problems and the satisfactory achievement of specified objectives. 

Coordinator II:

Performs all essential functions of a Coordinator I with a greater degree of independence and judgment. Works under limited supervision and is expected to perform the full range of analytical work requiring complete knowledge of program requirements. Work assigned to this class is distinguished from the level I by the greater complexity of assignments received, broader range of duties and the greater independence with which an incumbent is expected to operate. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Coordinator I

  • Provide day-to-day support for computer and information systems, software, and user requests based on operational requirements.
  • Assist with system upgrades, patches, and enhancements under the direction of senior staff.
  • Develop and maintain basic technical documentation relating to computer software, hardware, and systems configurations.
  • Maintain and support municipal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for Finance, HR, and Work Orders.
  • Maintain and support municipal land management and permitting systems. 
  • Support public safety systems such as CAD, JDIC, RMS, or related law enforcement applications.
  • Provide support for Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including data entry, mapping updates, and basic spatial data analysis.
  • Work with staff to analyze business processes and recommend opportunities for efficiency improvements using available technology.
  • Collaborate with vendors, IT staff, and department users to resolve technical issues.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Coordinator II

  • Maintain and support day-to-day computer and information systems and software based on operational requirements through observation of systems, review, testing and implementation and installation of upgrades, patches and enhancements
  • Prepares and submits budget requests for the program; estimates future needs of the program in terms of personnel, equipment, supplies and space; consults with superiors on priorities and availability of funding and other sources; develops grant proposals and other fund-raising programs; monitors expenditures; may negotiate contracts with subcontractors
  • Analyze business processes for opportunities to improve automation using available resources and technologies.
  • Lead or assist with integrating business systems for interoperability over multiple platforms and technologies. 
  • Write, execute and debug Structed Query Language (SQL) syntax to ensure optimal performance and data quality. 
  • Proficient with Python, PowerShell, JavaScript or similar scripting language for data manipulation, systems integration using Application Program Interfaces (APIs) and automation development. 
  • Manage & support municipal Enterprise Resource Planning Financial, HR and Work Order systems.
  • Manage & support municipal land management and permitting systems. 
  • Support public safety systems such as CAD, JDIC, RMS, or related law enforcement applications.  
  • Support Geographic Information Systems including spatial data analysis and layer creation.
  • May supervise administrative support staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Coordinator I:

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance would qualify.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in related field desired
  • Two (2) years of relevant professional experience 
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered

Coordinator II:

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance would qualify.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in related field desired
  • Three (3) years of relevant professional experience 
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
