This position serves in a lead capacity in the coordination of staff and programs to support the operational activities and safety of assigned area(s).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in the field of health and fitness, customer relations, business management, recreation, or youth programming required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in front desk reception and/or customer service in a health and fitness facility preferred.
  • Additional requirements as applicable to assigned area(s):
    • Must successfully obtain BLS CPR certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Serves as a role model for outstanding customer service and ensures a hospitable, professional atmosphere and environment. Leads by example by making high quality service for members and guests a top priority.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of programs and services and provides facility tours and membership information. Assists staff with the preparation and operation of program area(s) and provides support.
  • Assists in developing, educating, and maintaining necessary policy and procedures and holds staff and members accountable to allow efficient, high-quality operations.
  • Assists in maintaining security and safety. Opens, closes, and secures facilities at designated times and checks for safety and maintenance concerns. Identifies, corrects and submits required documentation regarding safety violations/issues.
  • Performs periodic rounds of the facility to ensure staff presence and to foster public and staff relations. Assists in areas as needed and maintains proficiency in member management software.
  • Assists with maintaining a clean facility that is organized and inviting to members and guests.
  • Communicates with and assists staff in maintaining and monitoring expiration dates and stock levels of all first aid and safety supplies. Assists and communicates monitoring levels of facility supplies to maintain efficient high-quality operations.
  • Responds to medical emergencies and/or safety violations, according to department protocol.
  • Compiles reports regarding facility issues, participant concerns, injuries and/or incidents. Maintains the Member Suggestion and Complaint system ensuring comments are routed appropriately per department procedures.
  • Oversees delegated tasks and projects to ensure service-based, efficient, and high-quality operations.
  • Lead may be expected to perform one (1) or more of the following tasks regularly:
    • Creates work schedule and assigns employees to specific work tasks.
    • Trains or coordinates the training of assigned staff.
    • Oversees and coordinates successful completion of employees’ competency assessments and required training.
    • Acts as point-of-contact/subject matter expert for employee questions about expectations and processes.
    • Assists in interviewing job candidates.
    • Leads or coordinates compliance and quality efforts.
    • Other duties as assigned at the discretion of management, excluding issuing corrective actions or administering performance evaluations.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
