is currently seeking qualified candidates for:

PROGRAM COORDINATOR 
Behavioral Health Services

Future Salary Increases:

** June 2026 – 4.49% increase to base pay (3% Across-the-Board + 1.49% Market Adjustment Increase)

** June 2027 – 4.49% increase to base pay (3% Across-the- Board + 1.49% Market Adjustment Increase)

The Program Coordinator is a professional management level classification that provides administrative, analytical, planning, and management support for programs and projects where substantive administrative, policy and/or technical issues require specialized analysis, recommendation and implementation.

Current openings are in the Health and Human Services Agency's (HHSA) Behavioral Health Services (BHS) department, under the following specialty area:

Program Coordinator, Population Health Office

The Population Health Office supports access to behavioral health care by ensuring individuals in need can connect to services, identifying and reducing health disparities, driving improved health outcomes, and promoting continuous quality improvement. The team’s work includes advancing quality improvement through the Network Quality and Planning team, meeting population-level data needs through the Epidemiology team, and strengthening prevention and healthcare integration efforts, including harm reduction. Together, these functions contribute to the County’s Live Well San Diego vision of healthy, safe, and thriving communities.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience implementing and coordinating complex programs, projects, and initiatives
  • Experience with process improvements and evaluating operational performance
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and achieving buy-in and support
  • Experience interpreting policy and technical information and translating it into actionable next steps
  • Experience with leveraging data to inform operational decision-making
  • Effective presentation and communication skills with senior management and executive leadership

Minimum Qualifications 

A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or certified foreign studies equivalency, AND, four (4) years of professional experience performing analysis, budget management, program administration, engineering, or closely related work in a program performing planning and analysis; OR a combination of education and/or experience as stated above.

Condition of Employment 
 

As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment.
