The Impact you will have in this role:
The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Software Development Engineer In Test (SDET) role encompasses automation development and execution, functional, and non-functional testing. The SDET role specializes in the design, development, execution, and maintenance of automated tests to ensure the quality of software products. Partners with team members to understand software requirements and execute automated tests that validate the functionality while considering privacy and security requirements
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Apply different software development and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle
- Develop applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional requirements
- Follow design and code standards, contributing to continuous improvement discussions
- Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
- Support senior team members to implement solutions using software delivery best practices
- Work with peers to mature ways of working, contributing to continuous testing within the software delivery processes and integrate automated test with CI/CD pipeline
- Partner with team members to understand software requirements and design automated tests that validate the functionality
- Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, troubleshooting, and improve overall software quality
- Prepare, maintain, and execute automated test scripts
- Maintain traceability from business requirements through test cases to automated scripts
- Maintain test cases /involve in automation approach with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive coverage and acquire feedback
- Construct appropriate end-to-end business scenarios through the application of a broad understanding of business objectives and goals
- Responsible for process compliance & associated documentation
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- Experience in Selenium Java with good hands-on experience
- Basic to moderate understanding of SQL for data validation.
- Experience with Database testing, ETL testing automation
- Experience with JIRA, Microfocus ALM, Bitbucket, Git, and Jenkins
- Exposure to one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Angular.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Snowflake data warehouse is an added advantage
- Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination
- In depth knowledge of the software implementation lifecycle (specifically the testing model, methodology, and processes),
- Experience with ETL testing for tools like Talend or Informatica, DataStage - added advantage
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools testing like Power BI, AWS QuickSight – added advantage
- Detailed understanding of smoke testing, black-box, and non-black box testing, as well as regression testing
- Requires the ability to work well with both business clients and technical teams and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
