Position: Senior Accountant

Supervisor: Plant Controller

Location: Libertyville, IL - Hybrid - min 3 days per week onsite

Description: The Senior Accountant role plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Culligan’s Flagship and Consumer Products business unit financials. This role focuses on month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and cost analysis. The accountant will also contribute to quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, audit support, and internal control improvements to maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post all required journal entries within the 4-day close cycle.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation.
• Review financial statements, prepare management reports, and provide departmental reporting.
• Analyze Purchase Price Variances and collaborate with Purchasing to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare quarterly forecasts for the balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process and standard cost roll updates.
• Perform quarterly Excess & Obsolete Inventory and Warranty Reserve analyses and provide recommendations to Controller.
• Participate in and coordinate annual physical inventory counts across three plants, including variance analysis and adjustments.
• Prepare detailed audit support for quarterly and annual external audits.
• Partner with Controller to strengthen internal controls and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Assist in developing and refining accounting policies and procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite a plus).
• Advanced Excel and strong data analysis skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Target Salary Range: $80000-110000 salary a year. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
