OVERVIEW
Perfetti Van Melle - a global confectionary company and makers of great product brands such as Airheads and Mentos is seeking an enthusiastic college student for an internship within our US Supply Chain team. This Supply Chain internship will be based in our Erlanger, KY facility (near the Cincinnati /NKY airport) with the expectation of 25 work hours per week. This internship is ideally suited for students who are interested in pursuing a career in Supply Chain or Logistics. Internship is slated for Spring 2026 (January start) with the potential to extend into the Summer semester.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Process customer orders timely and accurately in SAP
- Track shipments on carrier websites
- Respond to customer inquiries giving accurate order updates in timely manners via email.
- Collect and analyze all bill of Lading/proof of delivery reports for any discrepancies.
- Issue credits/debit memos to customers for overages, shortages, and/or damage inventory using SAP.
- Collect all claims (credit/debit memos) and accurately enter data into carrier claims site.
- Enter check payments and carrier denial letters into claims site.
- Assist with time sensitive shipment reports ensuring all data is recorded accurately using programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or SAP.
- Assist with office duties such as mailing of invoices, filing, etc.
- Work on continuous improvement projects.
- Support other Supply Chain Customer Solutions Team tasks as identified.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Qualified candidates must be pursuing a college degree, preferably in Supply Chain or Logistics.
- Prior work or internship experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize, effectively manage competing demands and work independently.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Proficient with various software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and adhere to all health & safety requirements.
