The Quality Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and updating the Supplier Approval, Document Control, Ingredient and Finished Product Specifications Databases.

 

  • Maintains the Supplier Approval Program Documented System updated ensuring the system efficiency and compliance with Mission Foods Requirements.
    • Ensures all the Supplier Documentation is organized and updated
    • Evaluates the Risk Assessment provided by the Suppliers for each ingredient and ensures these risks are taken into consideration when finished products are made in the Mission Foods production facilities.
    • Sends the Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR’s) to the Suppliers
    • Generates the Suppliers Corrective Actions Monthly Reports
    • Generates all the reports to perform the Supplier Annual Evaluation
    • Ask the supplier for COA needed at the plants
  • Evaluates the information contained in the raw materials, packaging materials and finished product specifications databases.
    • Evaluates the information contained in the raw materials, packaging materials and finished product specifications and ensures this information complies with Mission Foods requirements
    • Communicates specifications updates to the plants
    • Maintains material master lists current in Intelex
  • Maintains and updates the Quality System Control Documents in Intelex
  • Distributes updated documents to all the users
  • Maintains master files in the Quality Assurance Folder
  • Operates or directs the operation of lab equipment or apparatus in the performance of tests or experiments. 
  • Make presentations.
  • Implements the techniques and methods for Product evaluation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor’s degree in food science / technology, Chemistry, Cereal Science or closely related field or its equivalent. 3 years of Quality Assurance, 2 years in the food/beverage industry.

Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • SAP knowledge preferred
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Must have good organizational skills with the ability to multi task and prioritize assigned work.
  • Must possess high degree of accuracy in recording data (both words and numbers)
  • Must be able to work independently with a proven record of follow-though, teamwork and accountability
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to adapt to system changes as needed.
  • Desirable Spanish language
