Position Description:
ServiceTrade is a leading SaaS company transforming the fire protection and mechanical industries. We’re seeking a motivated and skilled Director, Quality Engineering to join our growing team. As the Director, Quality Engineering, you will be responsible for the overall quality practices across the Engineering teams. This person will collaborate closely with Customer Support, Engineering and Product Management to analyze and understand the quality problems impacting our customers. This person will work across multiple functions to propose and implement actions to strategically improve quality.

You are a results-driven leader who takes ownership of quality across complex systems. You thrive on identifying risks, improving processes, and implementing scalable QA strategies. Your experience in both manual and automated testing allows you to guide your team in delivering high-quality software efficiently. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and relentless in pursuing excellence — ensuring every release meets or exceeds customer expectations. Your leadership inspires collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Build a Quality Assurance organization adequate to the needs of ServiceTrade product portfolio, roadmap and product maturity
- Define, implement and articulate Quality Assurance strategy across ServiceTrade product portfolio
- Adopt and research AI best practices to help with Quality Assurance strategy and execution
- Define quality thresholds necessary to promote changes (features, bug fixes, etc) to production
- Partner with Customer Support organization to understand and analyze quality impact experienced by our customers
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product Management to strategically improve quality
- Evaluation and selection of tools used for test automation, performance testing and load simulation
- Evaluation and selection of tools for continuous inspection of code quality
- Incorporation of secure software development practices to testing and overall quality assurance process
- Professional development of team members through coaching, mentoring and formal training
Knowledge and Skills:
- Significant experience experience with Quality Assurance (5+ years)
- Significant experience with test automation (5+ years)
- Significant experience with testing commercial/B2B Web Applications (5+ years)
- Significant experience with testing commercial/B2B mobile applications for iOS and Android (3+ years)
- Familiarity with AI tools and techniques to improve effectiveness and efficiency of Quality Assurance organization
- Experience with testing REST APIs (3+ years)
- Experience managing onshore and offshore resources
- Experience working in a distributed environment across multiple time zones
- Experience presenting to executives and external stakeholders (customers, prospects)
- Experience with relational database technologies like MySQL - including writing/executing SQL queries, schema creation and understanding of database design
- Experience with cloud based solutions. Preferred: Experience with AWS, particularly EC2, RDS, and Lambda
- Preferred: Experience with all the trappings of a modern software team: GitHub, JIRA, etc.
- Proven track record setting and achieving goals, individually and through a team of people
- Excellent written communication skills
