Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an Advanced Analytics & AI Capabilities Director to join our Business Advisory team and help shape the future of digital transformation across the Americas. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team driving innovation in data strategy, advanced analytics, and AI solutions. GHD’s Data Analytics & AI Team partners with clients across diverse industries to build intelligent platforms and deliver real-world solutions that unlock efficiencies, enhance decision-making, and create lasting community impact in an increasingly digital and AI-enabled world.

As a strategic leader, you’ll define and execute the roadmap for data and AI initiatives, mentor a high-performing team, and serve as a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and clients. You’ll spearhead the development of cutting-edge AI models and analytics tools, represent GHD at industry events, and publish thought leadership that showcases our transformative capabilities. Your work will directly influence client success by translating complex data into actionable insights and measurable outcomes.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Needs Assessment: Engage with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic challenges.
  • Improvement/Innovation: Take responsibility for developing and delivering change management plans and achieving outcomes that support the organization's overall strategy.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Develop a comprehensive policy framework for a significant area of the business and oversee its implementation.
  • Recommendations: Provide integrated, long-term solutions and strategies for a significant area of responsibility, such as a function.
  • Solutions Analysis: Develop strategic solutions to long-term business needs by anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Practice Leadership: Act as the practice lead to define and develop the standard of excellent practice, in line with national frameworks, standards, and legislation. Includes bringing best practice from research and latest legislative changes.
  • Leadership and Direction: Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision, and values; clarify the actions needed to implement this strategy within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to the mission, vision, and values and do extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals.
  • Organizational Capability Building: Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of a significant business area. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other informal methods.
  • Product and Solution Development: Take responsibility for developing and delivering a major part of the organization's product development program.
  • Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Analysis: Set strategic direction and develop policies, methods, and procedures to conduct feasibility studies from technological, financial, and organizational perspectives on bid solicitation request for proposal (RFP) and request for tender (RFT) project requirements and manage creation of optimal information for decision-making in tendering processes.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, AI, and/or machine learning, with proven success in value-based initiatives
  • Expertise in consulting with private and public clients to unpack/define needs and performance measures, collaborate on holistic solution scenarios, decision support and full implementation/implementation, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, governance, and modern data platforms (cloud, big data, IoT)
  • Ability to direct and apply the use of analytics tools (e.g. Python, R, SQL), and cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure), machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Tableau)
  • Expertise with the branches of AI, including ML, NLP, Computer Vision, Robotics and Expert Systems preferred
  • Experience with CRM analytics, pricing optimization, and sales enablement tools preferred
  • Certifications in AI, data strategy, or digital transformation preferred
  • Experience implementing enterprise-level data platforms and analytics governance frameworks preferred
