Position Title: Director, Music Business
Compensation Range: $90-120k
FLSA: Exempt
Location: Los Angeles, CA (on-site)

Position Overview: CJ ENM America is looking for an experienced and hands-on Director, Music Business to join our team. The Director will focus on overseeing and leading production project management, operations, financial budgets and manage the junior members of the team to elevate CJ ENM America’s virtual/live events and experiences. This position will report to the VP, Music Business. This role is a critical role that works directly with our headquarters in South Korea.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee internal event team and event support team.
- Work closely with multiple HQ counterpart teams in Korea to plan and negotiate business initiatives, acting as the primary liaison for local operations.
- Drive and execute new business strategies, partnering interdepartmentally to bring new ideas to life.
- Act as primary lead for on-site execution from load-in to load-out at events.
- Full scope of event management from ideation to pre-planning to execution to post reconciliation.
- Oversight and management of all project tools: vendor lists, all schedules such as calendar management, production schedules, production manuals, project timelines, workback schedules, ROS, COI's, etc.
- Generate and manage budget and P&L for all events and business ventures.
- Vendor management and payments, vendor sourcing, negotiation & coordination.
- Oversee creation of event collateral, decks, presentations, etc.
- Build support team for onsite as needed (ex: interns, contractors)
- Handle venue/permit procurement and contract negotiations.
- Manage and take on other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills:
- 10+ years demonstrated experience
- Entrepreneurial business and commercial mindset
- Bilingual in Korean and English is a must.
- Demonstrated experience producing a variety of large scale events, experiential, theatrical, or other live entertainment productions (ex: conventions, festivals, screenings, premieres, panel discussions, concerts, parties, etc.)
- Experience with hospitality, F&B, ticketing, etc.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high volume, production environments
- Thorough understanding of permitting standards (Including but not limited to TPA, Special Event, Fire, Health & Safety)
- Should have corporate experience or knowledge of corporate structure
- Agency experience and/or international parent company experience preferred
- Team management experience with demonstrated ability for successfully producing high-profile and large-scale events
- Prior experience with utilizing social media platforms
- MS-Office, Google Suite, Asana, Slack, Kakao
- Prior hands-on experience with utilizing software such as: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc.
