As a Clinical Educator in Ambulatory Care, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of clinical practice across our primary care and specialty clinics. This dynamic position is dedicated to empowering clinical staff through education, skill development, and mentorship—ensuring our teams deliver the highest quality, patient-centered care. Territory & Travel
This role offers the opportunity to engage with a diverse network of ambulatory practices across the North Shore region. As the Clinical Educator, you’ll serve as a resource and mentor across multiple sites, building strong relationships with nursing staff and leaders while ensuring consistency in education, clinical excellence, and professional development.
You will primarily support the following locations, with regular travel between sites:
Danvers
Marblehead
Beverly
Saugus
Peabody
Swampscott
Salem
Rowley
Lynn
Newburyport
This regional presence allows you to have a broad impact—strengthening nursing practice and patient care across multiple communities while working closely with interdisciplinary teams.
Job Summary
Design and develop educational programs and curricula tailored to the needs of nursing staff, covering clinical procedures, patient care protocols, technological advancements, and regulatory compliance.Conduct educational sessions, workshops, and in-service training to enhance nursing staff knowledge, skills, and competencies, utilizing various teaching methodologies and resources.
Facilitate orientation programs for new nursing hires, introducing them to ambulatory policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Organize and promote continuing education opportunities for nursing staff, encouraging ongoing professional development, and facilitating access to relevant training resources.
Evaluate and assess the clinical skills and competencies of nursing staff, providing constructive feedback and creating individual development plans where needed.
Ensure clinical staff compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices through education, training, and audits.
Work collaboratively with nursing leadership, department heads, and other healthcare professionals to align educational initiatives with organizational goals and quality improvement efforts.
Maintain accurate records of educational programs, attendance, evaluations, and staff competencies, providing reports as required by regulatory bodies and ambulatory administration.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required
Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred – ideal for those looking to grow into leadership and advanced education roles
Licensure & Credentials
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in MA required
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience required
Prior experience in nursing education, staff training, or healthcare instruction (2–3 years) preferred—ideal for candidates with a passion for teaching and mentoring
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Skilled in curriculum design, instructional methods, and adult learning principles
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire diverse learners
Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead staff while fostering a culture of continuous growth and professional excellence
Comfortable with healthcare technologies and learning management systems to support innovative education delivery
Flexible and adaptable in response to evolving clinical practices, patient needs, and regulatory requirements
