About the role
As a Quality Control Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards throughout the production process. This includes performing pre-operational inspections, gathering and interpreting data, and maintaining compliance with all USDA, FDA, WDA, and SQF regulations. Your role is essential in supporting McCain’s dedication to product excellence and consumer safety.

Statement of Job
The Quality Control Technician plays a vital role in ensuring that McCain products meet rigorous safety and quality standards. This includes monitoring production processes, performing inspections, collecting and interpreting data, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Perform all assignments in alignment with USDA, FDA, WDA, and SQF regulations to ensure food safety
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times
Report food safety and quality concerns to appropriate supervision
Monitor and document key quality data throughout production
Weigh and record data accurately and in a timely manner
Interpret data to confirm compliance with customer guidelines and internal specifications
Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure readiness for production
Communicate any areas not meeting quality specifications
Maintain a professional work ethic and contribute positively to team morale
Adhere to all work rules and company policies
Competencies / Qualifications / Education / Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1 year of relevant food or manufacturing experience
Ability to read, write, and comprehend job-related documents
Adequate math skills (addition, subtraction, averaging, counting)
Ability to analyze and interpret data effectively
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to collaborate and communicate respectfully and effectively with coworkers
