Are you a payroll professional with a passion for data, systems, and process improvement? This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team driving payroll remediation and transformation across a complex, enterprise-level environment. As a Payroll Remediation Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in resolving payroll issues, supporting system testing, and contributing to future-proofing payroll processes.

This permanent, full-time opportunity will offer you exposure to large-scale payroll operations, including Oracle Express HR systems and SAP, and over 200 EBAs. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across HR, Finance, IT, and the Business Services Centre, contributing to meaningful outcomes that impact thousands of employees. Experience with Oracle HR Express and working in a Shared Services environment will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll remediation cases through all project phases: Define & Analyse, Quantify, Validate, Communicate & Compensate.
  • Prepare and analyse payroll data, including back pay and leave accrual calculations.
  • Conduct system testing, develop test cases, and manage defect resolution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate outcomes and ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you will bring

  • Significant experience in payroll processing and applying legislative requirements (EBA/Award, tax, employment law).
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Express HR and/or SAP payroll systems and Advanced Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in manual back pay and leave accrual calculations.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex data and resolve payroll issues.
  • Experience with testing tools and managing UAT processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience in interpreting EBAs and applying them to payroll operations.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume payroll environment (600+ employees).
  • Previous experience working in a Shared Services environment will be highly regarded.
