About the Role
We are now recruiting for a Material Requirements Planner to join the Global Procurement team based in Adelaide on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely planning and ordering of materials required for production, based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and supplier lead times.
You’ll also manage purchase orders and work closely with suppliers to expedite deliveries, ensuring materials arrive on time and in full (OTIF) to support uninterrupted production.
You’ll be highly organised, with great attention to detail to coordinate inter-branch movements and manage the associated transactions with these activities, maintain up to data in JDE, process invoices, and coordinate purchasing activity with load building amongst other assigned tasks.
What You'll Be Doing
- Review MRP outputs and manage purchase orders aligned with production plans and inventory targets.
- Monitor supplier deliveries, adjust orders as needed, and resolve discrepancies in parts lists and purchasing terms.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, safety stock levels, and initiate stock transfers and adjustments.
- Analyse inventory trends to optimise batch sizing, reorder points, and prevent stockouts or overstock.
- Investigate and resolve inventory data issues, ensuring integrity across systems and records.
- Coordinate with suppliers to expedite deliveries and resolve supply issues, including returns and rework.
- Maintain documentation and provide regular reporting to the Purchasing Manager.
- Support continuous improvement in planning, ordering, and inventory control processes.
What We're Looking For
- Valid driver’s licence (essential).
- 2+ years’ experience in materials planning, inventory management, or production scheduling.
- Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
- Advanced Excel skills and solid analytical capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and coordination skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to changing production needs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in manufacturing or FMCG sectors; wine, food, or beverage supply chain knowledge a plus.
- Comfortable with batch sizing, MOQ management, and supplier expediting.
- Proactive, team-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
