Requirements

As the Lead Backend System Architect at Gateway, you will lead the technical design and implementation of our new flagship product. You should have a deep understanding of software architecture, scalability, data models, and system
architecture. Your focus will be on developing high quality, scalable, and efficient distributed systems. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all system components fit together to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Drive collaboration within the backend team to own and design the technical infrastructure of our new product.
• Conduct a thorough analysis of product requirements and develop a functional architecture for the system, as well as recommend how the system will be developed, deployed and maintained.
• Work closely with other members of the technical team to implement the design, including code development, deployment, production operations and support.
• Ensure that all components of the system are integrated seamlessly from customer usage, data governance and data security perspectives.
• Work hands-on in product prototyping and deliver functional code for rapid MVP testing and turnaround.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience required
• 5+ years of experience as a System Architect
• 10+ years of relevant work experience with an emphasis on software development and design.
• Highly proficient in at least one of Python, Golang or C++ programming
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in designing distributed systems, API design, and working with cloud technologies (at least one of GCP, AWS or Azure), databases (SQL and NoSQL)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks and projects at different stages of completion, think strategically and develop long-term technical strategies

Preferred

• Any knowledge of Agentic / ML systems and their orchestration
• Any past experience with architecting a major system in the cloud
