Manager, Cost Accounting chez Blommer Chocolate Company

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the maintenance of cost accounting systems, processes, and planned pricing development in SAP.
• Analyze production orders by plant and look for any corrective actions to be done at the order level in order to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Identify low vs high profitability SKUs manufactured at the plants.
• Work with operations to reconcile monthly inventory on-hand reports and report inventory on hand accurately for month end.
• Work with Business Development, R&D and Commercial teams to prepare cost estimates for new and existing products.
• Provide a detail analysis and breakdown of COGS.
• Manage standard cost updates and variance analysis by executing the cost adjustment program in SAP.
• Collaborate with Business Development to enhance COPA allocations.
• Provide detailed reports and analysis to support decision-making and performance improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Manage and oversee the Commodities accounting function by preparing purchasing cash forecasts, plant inventory reports, and assist in raw materials reconciliations.
• Supervise and mentor the accountant staff.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to communicate complex data in a clear and concise manner.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid or on-site environment depending on organizational needs.
• May require occasional visits to manufacturing sites or warehouses.

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. The base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. The actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, education, certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position. 

This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives. 

Salary Range: $125k-135K
