The education and engagement team at Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc. focuses on educating students and the public about agriculture, as well as offering networking and leadership development opportunities.
As a summer intern you will work approximately 37.5 hours per week at our downtown headquarters, from mid-May to Mid-August:
As an intern you will:
- Work with programs and activities that enhance student and consumer understanding of modern agriculture.
- Research elementary agriculture-accurate books and develop educational materials for volunteers and teachers.
- Prepare and facilitate lessons for AITC summer workshops.
- Develop content to enhance specific Indiana agriculture lessons and/or kits.
- Prepare and deliver lessons to students at the Felege Hiywot Center.
- Collaborate with member volunteers and INFB staff during the Indiana State Fair, Taste from Indiana Farms, and the Young Farmers & Ag Professionals planning meeting.

Preferred qualifications
- Applicants pursuing an agricultural education or agricultural communications degree.
- Experience in preparing educational lessons and activities to middle and high school students.
- An agricultural background.
Required qualifications
- Applicants who are self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented, have an awareness of Indiana academic standards, and can establish clearly defined goals and objectives for projects.
- A college student in their sophomore through senior year.
