Controls Engineer chez Aagard

Key Obsessions: 

• Write code to control motion of equipment

Write code to control machine motion, adhering to Aagard standards, concept requirements, and customer specifications.

Ensure code is ready for successful power-up, defining changeover settings and writing changeover rules.

Ensure code is accurate an compete through thorough I/O (Input/Output) validation.

Collaborate in the development and maintenance of Aagard's controls standards to drive consistency and quality across projects.

• Test the code

Test the control code, considering all operational scenarios to ensure reliability.

Support the equipment's testing and installation phases, verifying functionality and integration of devices.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues swiftly to maintain high machine uptime.

• Ensure the best running and favorite machines in customer facilities

Ensure machines operate at peak performance, minimizing downtime through swift response times.

Provide engineering support for field issues, equipment retrofits, and related troubleshooting.

Deliver training, transferring knowledge to internal and external customers on HMI (Human Machine Interface) and machine operation.

• Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration

Lead projects with minimal supervision, ensuring timely execution and results.

Communicate openly and professionally across departments and with customers.

Participate in design reviews and collaborate with problem-solving sessions.

Represent Aagard with professionalism in the field and during customer interactions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Strong knowledge of programming practices and concepts relations to motion and timing.
• Knowledge of mechanical, controls, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic components.
• Experience or training with PC’s servos, and PLC’s.
• Previous experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley products preferred
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb
• Willing to travel as necessary (up to 30%) and required to possess or secure a valid passport (cost reimbursed by Aagard).
