Chemical Laboratory Manager chez Mainstream Engineering

Position Summary

We are seeking a Chemical Laboratory Manager to support our advanced R&D and manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and organized chemical-handling areas while ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.

As the Chemical Lab Manager you will:

• Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records for all chemicals.
• Oversee chemical purchasing and provide safety consultations for new projects.
• Manage chemical waste handling and disposal.

The position also includes operation and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, including (but not limited to):

• Gas Chromatography (GC)
• High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
• UV-Vis Spectroscopy
• FTIR Spectroscopy
• Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
• Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)

Additionally, you will contribute to applied R&D projects by supporting experimental design and execution.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • BS in Chemistry preferred, OR
  • AS in Chemistry plus 3+ years of laboratory/chemical hygiene experience
• Experience & Skills:
  • Hands-on laboratory experience required
  • Familiarity with chemical hygiene, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Other Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship (required by ITAR regulations)
  • GPA > 3.3 at all degree levels
