The opportunity
Silverchain is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join the team on a permanent full-time basis based out of our Osborne Park head office. The Cloud Engineer is responsible for the daily maintenance, management, and implementation of Microsoft Azure services.
The primary objective of the roles is to ensure that the Azure platform is well managed and secure, that services hosted on the Azure platform are financially optimised, well architected and meets cloud best practices.
The role will implement and manage new Cloud solutions and support transition from projects, provide technical support, respond to incidents and ensure continuous improvement of infrastructure and assist in defining practices, processes and standards.
Key responsibilities
The major accountabilities of this position are:
- Be the lead in developing cloud services relating to Microsoft Azure (be they IaaS, PaaS or other). Installs, configuration, patch upgrades, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and cost optimization of Infrastructure services.
- Implement and manage new cloud solutions and provide leadership and guidance in transition from projects.
- Provide technical leadership to internal stakeholders and oversee day-day operations of Level II support.
- Take the lead in identifying security risks and provide solutions within the Infrastructure and Security team.
- Involved in key continuous improvement strategies.
- Implement and manage new cloud solutions and provide leadership and guidance in transition from projects.

- Take the lead in identifying security risks and provide solutions within the Infrastructure and Security team.
- Involved in key continuous improvement strategies of existing systems and platforms.
- Provide leadership, knowledge and guidance of team members.
About you
- Tertiary or vocational qualifications within the relevant discipline.
- Track record of successfully leading the provisioning, architecture, management, and maintenance of an Azure Platform in large environments.
- Experience in Azure resources, design, networking, system admin, security required.
- Experience managing an Azure landing zone and governing operational health and security of the platform.
- Experience in delivering solutions as Infrastructure as Code (BICEP templates etc)
- Sound knowledge of server infrastructure, operating systems, networking, virtualisation and cloud computing.
- Experience with Agile, and DevOps concepts Developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations and alerts.
- Knowledge of Dynamics365 and Power Platforms advantageous.
