To strengthen our Data Science team in Bergheim (Salzburg), we are looking for a Data Engineer that will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining data processing and transformation routines and related data models as the foundation for data-driven business models. The role’s focus is to work closely with Data-Science team members and subject matter experts from other parts of the PALFINGER organization to understand data requirements and to ensure high quality and timely delivery of data products. This role requires a communicative, self-reliant, and hands-on person whose expertise lies within data engineering and who has a passion for finding new technical solutions within a fast-evolving environment.
_____Your responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain data ingestion, transformation and provisioning
- Design data models and data architecture for effective data processing and storage
- DataOps: orchestrate and monitor data load processes, ensure data quality
- Support Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) with high-quality data products
- Create and maintain documentation
Your qualifications
- Must have: Profound completed education in a technical field (engineering, computer science, business informatics or comparable).
- Good knowledge of and experience with design and implementation of data processing pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from a variety of data sources and formats.
- Good Knowledge of and experience with design and implementation of data models and data architectures.
- Good knowledge of and experience with programming languages, libraries and toolsets for Data Engineering (e.g. Python, Pandas, SQL, Spark, Azure Data Factory).
- Knowledge of and experience with specific data solutions like Databricks or MS Fabric, cloud solutions (e.g. MS Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services) and software development tools and concepts (e.g. Git, CI/CD).

Minimum yearly gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 52.197,04 based on full-time employment. According to experience and qualification, we offer a market-conform overpayment.
