Pure Storage’s Fusion team is redefining how enterprises consume, scale, and operate storage infrastructure across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Fusion unifies block, file, and object protocols with advanced AI-driven capabilities, providing observability, resiliency, and security at enterprise scale.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will not only lead high-performing teams, but also bring deep technical expertise to solve distributed systems challenges at scale. This role demands both strong people leadership and the technical depth to guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure Fusion continues to deliver industry-leading innovation. You will also have the opportunity to build new teams ground-up.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…
- Build and scale a new engineering team focused on core Fusion services—hiring top talent, establishing culture, and laying the groundwork for long-term success.
- Lead multiple engineering features building critical Fusion platform components—ensuring scalability, security, and high availability across multi-array and hybrid-cloud deployments.
- Partner with product management and architecture to define roadmaps, align technical priorities, and deliver features that make a measurable impact for customers.
- Build and maintain robust engineering processes around code quality, observability, CI/CD, incident response, and operational readiness.
- Mentor and grow engineering leads; foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and innovation.
- Drive cross-team initiatives to improve performance, reliability, and developer productivity.
- Stay hands-on when necessary: dive into design discussions, evaluate system performance, and troubleshoot complex issues with engineers
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…
- Leadership Experience: 5+ years of management experience, including building and growing new teams or organizations from the ground up.
- Technical Depth: 10+ years of experience in systems software or distributed systems. Strong expertise in storage systems, data protection, operating systems, or cloud-native infrastructure.
- Technical Guidance: The ability to provide technical guidance on complex design and implementation challenges.
- Operational Excellence: Proven success driving projects through the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Collaboration & Influence: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence technical strategy across organizations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
