Quality Supervisor chez National Gypsum Company

Gold Bond Building Products, LLC has an immediate opening for a Quality Supervisor at our Shippingport, PA location. This position will report to Plant Manager.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

• Lead the plant quality efforts, including ensuring all daily quality checks are completed and reported,
  ensuring all product specifications are being met, providing quality training as required and leading process
  improvement and Six Sigma teams
• Direct and/or conduct the sampling and testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure
  specifications are met or exceeded
• Identify, coordinate and lead improvement opportunities and recommend equipment or process changes to
  improve board quality
• Act as Plant SPC/QIP Coordinator and train new associates on process and SP
• Provide input and direction to ensure Quality Audit objectives are met
• Initiate plant quality improvement, problem solving and customer satisfaction
• Take hands-on approach to resolve Quality issues and interface with Sales and customers for settlement and field investigations
• Train Lab Technician in all duties of Quality Supervisor
• Special assignments and projects as directed by the Plant Manager
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A four-year college degree in Science, Engineering or Chemistry is preferred
• 2 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/supervisory role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, SOP/procedure development
• Enjoys working with people to solve production and quality issues
• Strong knowledge in mathematics, statistics and chemistry
• Strong computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & SAP
• Six Sigma green belt preferred

Competitive Salary, with a general salary range of $78,816 to $98,520, or higher depending on education and experience.
