 The Quality Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the organization’s quality management strategy developing policies, processes, procedures, programs, and initiatives to improve operational performance. This individual will monitor and audit processes, procedures, against established standards and conduct continuous analysis to improve the quality of all processes throughout the business.  The Quality Manager will lead cross functional teams to identify deficiencies or gaps and develops effective tools, methods, solutions, and systems to ensure products and services are of the highest quality while focusing on optimizing processes to comply with existing and new regulatory requirements.  Additionally, this individual will track quality performance across a range of outsourced contract manufacturers.

Connected Development is a specialist in the electronic component distribution and design engineering services industries.  The ideal candidate will reside in Auburn Hills, MI.; however, for the right candidate this role can be remote. 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Use the Quality Environmental Management System (QEMS) for the development of internal audit plans and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Compile and communicate internal and external audit findings to management and track to completion in the CAR/PAR (Corrective and Preventative Action) system.

Populate customer pre-audit documentation and act as lead point of contact during customer audits of the QEMS.

Support areas of the company where significant system nonconformance or deficiencies are identified using 8D principles and ensure that root cause is determined, verified, implemented, and validated.  

Lead teams in continual improvement of methods and processes using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to decrease process time, meet customer expectations and increase accuracy while reducing costs in accordance with both company and external policies and procedures.

Support organization at all functions and levels to exemplify the quality culture within the company as part of daily routines to achieve company goals and objectives.

Distribute, collect and analyze customer feedback utilizing Net Promoter Score (NPS) to improve customer satisfaction.

Contribute to new business initiatives reviewing and communicating the impact on Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Manage internal survey program on contract manufacturer performance and bring issues up to leadership when necessary.

Work with and provide reporting to XTG Quality team leaders and members.

Additional duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering or relevant field.  Master’s degree preferred.  5 years’ experience in manufacturing or engineering, and twenty percent travel required.

 

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 Lead Auditor certified.
  • Six Sigma Mater Black Belt certified preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel. 
  • Negotiate, influence and resolve conflicts within all levels of the organization to a win/win solution. 
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement process tools and techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Data analysis and statistical aptitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
