Internship Department Details:
Department Name: Mechanical R&D
Business Function: Research and Development
Team Highlights: Driving mechanical design and test solutions to feed into new product development projects for the organization.
Where you come in:
You design test fixtures in CAD and coordinate logistics with peers and external vendors to drive new product test method development.
You utilize statistical modeling and data analytics to inform and decisions: developing statistical models for DOE’s and interpreting results effectively utilizing statistical software such as Minitab and/or JMP .
You develop product testing and characterization plans to evaluate viability of test methods.
You assist in conducting Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to evaluate the accuracy and precision of measurement tools and systems.
What makes you successful:
You must have proficient in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and have a solid understanding of GD&T principles.
You must have experience with tools such as Minitab, JMP, or Excel for MSA data analysis.
You have a strong understanding of various material properties and their applications (e.g., polymers, metals).
You are detail-oriented and capable of managing activities and documentation effectively.
You have strong communication skills and can succeed in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Experience and Education Requirements:
Requires a completed Bachelor’s degree.
Must be a currently enrolled Master’s, JD, or PhD student at an accredited college or university in a STEM discipline with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or later.
Non-Exempt Salary Details:
The annualized base salary range for this role is $35.00 to $45.00. Annualized values for non-exempt (hourly) positions are estimates, final annualized salary will depend on total hours worked. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
