Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Network Engineer in the technology sector, where you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying, and managing robust network infrastructures. You will collaborate closely with network engineers and customers to create scalable, reliable, and secure network solutions. Your efforts will ensure optimal performance and connectivity through innovative problem-solving and strategic network enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with network engineers and customers to develop scalable, reliable, and secure network solutions.
- Design, deploy, configure, and manage network infrastructures.
- Implement and validate networking services according to solution design specifications.
- Manage and support enterprise-grade routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Utilize multi-vendor switching and routing technologies, including Juniper, Arista, and Cisco, for design and troubleshooting.
- Analyze and report key performance metrics for network services.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base through documentation, including operational processes and detailed network diagrams.
- Partner with network operations to enhance alerting mechanisms and minimize outages.
- Identify and resolve root causes of network issues impacting service reliability.
- Lead network upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning efforts.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot latency or outage issues.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and cloud teams on network integrations.
- Document configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in network engineering or network operations.
- At least one active network certification: CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE, or equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, VRRP, LACP, MC-LAG, and EVPN with VXLAN.
- Expertise in IPv4 and IPv6 networking.
- Familiarity with Unix and Linux systems, along with scripting capabilities in Python and bash.
- Strong experience with Cisco technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls (ASA, Firepower), and wireless controllers.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetFlow).
- Proficiency in SD-WAN, network segmentation, and high-availability designs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in performing network security assessments and implementing security measures.
- Hands-on experience with advanced network virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in automation tools and frameworks for network orchestration.
- Advanced understanding of high-performance computing environments.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud network integrations and hybrid solutions.
