JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
TELECOMMUNICATIONS DESIGNER
This position provides technical and design services in support of electrical design projects to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients. Responsibilities include:
- Participate in the design effort on large and small projects
- Perform complex analysis, calculations, design, evaluation and inspection for telecommunications, audio/visual, and electronic security systems to support project needs.
- Produce design documents (drawings, design narratives, and specifications)
- Review shop drawings and submittals, answer RFI’s and perform site visits as needed during the construction phase.
- Perform research to support project tasks and design choices
- Prepare various reports and meeting minutes
- Manage time and self under the supervision of a department manager
- Ability to interact and work directly with Architects and Owners
- Willingness to travel for projects nationally and internationally
Required Experience:
- BS in Engineering preferred, but not required
- RCDD certification preferred, but ability and willingness to achieve RCDD is required
- 5-plus years of experience in telecommunications and special systems design including structured cabling systems, electronic security systems, and audio-visual systems
- Extensive knowledge of TIA standards
- Experience in federal/municipal government, healthcare or aviation preferred but not required
- Must be competent in Revit and AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam software
- Must be able to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to complete work assignments
- Must be able to travel to a project meeting, interface with clients, and speak confidently about telecommunications and special systems design.
- Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver’s license
