About the Department


The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.

Position Duties
Three years of habilitation experience; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Independently performs the following duties:
- Teaches IDD or physically handicapped students in physical education cognitive skills, work activities, etc.
- Makes recommendations for budget, program modification and content, and departmental policy procedures, providing interpretation as needed.
- May serve as a qualified IDD professional.
- May supervise subordinate paraprofessionals.
- May be responsible for location and recommending contract procurement for work activities/job placement.
- Supervise Multiple Day Program areas in daily active treatment activities only for classroom organization. Make daily rounds to areas to ensure direct and in-service staff in implementing and scoring active treatment training, guidance of skills and routine self-help skills in the Day Program in providing personal and social growth. Teach Active Treatment activities to individuals attending the Day program for skill acquisition. Evaluate documentation of training of Day Program employees by ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation, reports, and team reports. Supervise / observe training of employees ensuring staff are trained to provide continuous care and security to individuals supported by PSSC. Assist employees on work-related problems or questions. Prepare performance planning and evaluation on subordinat Developmentalist (2) staff. Maintain personnel file and prepare official position descriptions on all employyes supervised. Keep an open line of communication with Habilitation Director and Habilitation Instructor 3 keeping both on same page of any issues in the Day Program department.
- Assist Habilitation Director and Habilitation Instructor 3 in developing required classroom activities for Active Treatment implementation. Enter Day Program data of scored active quarterly treatment training percentages and documentation for individual caseloads weekly, Individual Support Plan Information yearly and Profile of Support information monthly as scheduled through the interdisciplinary Team (IDT) process. Keep an open line of communication with QMRPs and IDT members to ensure appropriate treatment plans are in place for each person in your caseload.
- Assist with preparation of documentation training of needs assessments established by the team process to personalize each person's needs for skill acquisition. Monitor quarterly needs assessments, documentation to allow for what is feasible for a schedule and the creation of classes for each person's individual needs. Make classroom training material purchases, and decor as deemed necessary throughout the semester.
- Report and monitor for individual incidents / accidents and suspected cases of abuse / neglect to proper authorities in a timely manner. Make recommendations for budget requests, program modification and content while attending IDT meetings and departmental policy procedures providing interpretation as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Administrator to support the Agency and / or the people we serve.
Position-Specific Detail:
Appointment Type: probation, promotion, demotion, lateral transfer, or detail to special duty. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.
Location: Employment Services (Day Program).
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM /Pass Days: Saturday / Sunday
