Your Contribution
As a Logistics Leader reporting to the Head of Logistics, you will have full ownership and accountability for the entire customer base for the site for both the Thermal and Fluid value streams. You will be responsible for the overall strategy of managing the customer base, segmentation, customer and supplier payment schedules, plant scheduling, production planning, new product introduction, scaling volumes, and site inventory management of both raw and finished goods.
- Develop the plan for the execution of on time deliveries for all customers at 100% acceptance level.
- Build a sustainable, lean, operation capable of not only supporting the company’s tremendous projected growth but also driving it.
- Manage the procurement of mass production raw material while balancing physical inventory and preventing line shutdown.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and implement best practices related to forecasting and supply inventory control.
- Facilitate continuous improvement of material flow and material management within manufacturing facility and supply chain.
- Manage warehouse operations including stock management related to shipping, cycle counts, efficiency, accuracy & stock return.
- SAP input/management: Oversee all receipts for incoming raw materials; oversee all transfers from inventory managed to warehouse managed.
- Manage scheduling and loading/unloading of all incoming/outgoing containers.
- Coordinate and implement consignment materials, future inventory, and warehousing concepts.
- Track and report inventory issues and coordinate resolution.
- Manage physical inventories for each BU annually; research and implement best in class inventory practices.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline, from a four-year college or university.
- 5-7 years of experience in Logistics in a manufacturing environment (strong preference for automotive); material flow experience is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience, preferably covering all areas of responsibility for this position.
- Extensive experience working with MRP and JIT principals.
- Demonstration of flexibility and adaptation to a changing environment.
- Ability to provide decisive leadership and team facilitation in the face of adversity -define tasks clearly, identify and coordinate resources, and execute a go-forward plan.
- Ability to define goals, metrics, and levels of success for internal/external customers.
- SAP proficiency is strongly preferred.
- APICS Certification (CPIM Designation) desired.
