Job Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of production department in processing materials or manufacturing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Job Duties:
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs, identify cost saving opportunities, and prevent operational delays
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards
- Strives to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines
- Sets ambitious production goals and communicate them to key personnel
- Provides motivation, support and guidance to all employees
- Communicates any problems or obstacles to senior management
- Establishes workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity
- Drives the continuous improvement process and system, and implement programs that will have continuing long-term benefits
- Implements 5S throughout the plant and oversee the auditing
- Backs up Plant Manager as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Operations or related field preferred, with four-five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Supervisory experience required
- Able to deal properly with sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to effective develop people and lead a team
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
