Our team is searching for a Technical Development Representative to work out of our Wyandotte, MI site with a particular focus in the areas of E-mobility and filtration. Our aim is to support technologies and grow with our customers in the polyurethanes business.
As TD Representative, PU, you will be instrumental in developing new opportunities and products alongside the research and marketing functions, while supporting and growing existing business with our sales colleagues. As a member of the E-mobility and Filters team you will balance the needs of your direct account responsibilities across a range of technologies, while developing new products as part of the wider Transportation, Furniture, CASE, and Footwear technical team.
As a Technical Development Representative, you create chemistry by...
• Providing technical service and polyurethane product development for key consumer accounts in the Performance Materials Business with an emphasis on E-mobility and filter applications.
• Formulating polyurethane systems, conducting laboratory machine runs, and conducting field evaluations.
• Working efficiently and effectively through the use of statistical tools to optimize customer formulations and processes.
• Occasional weekend work may be required for customer trials and support.
• Travel to customer sites for trials and support will be required, typically less than 25% but could be more for periods of the year.
• Performing all tasks with particular attention to health and safety
If you...
• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science related discipline OR BS degree and relevant industry experience
• Are able to work effectively with minimum direct supervision in a team environment
• Have the ability and desire to travel and service customers across NA region
• Have demonstrated teamwork, creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills
• Have proven effective communication skills with coworkers and customers
• Participation in a BASF Professional Development Plan rotational program having polyurethane chemistry and technology experience preferred
