Ergon is seeking a Crude Oil Scheduler to support it's logistics operations across companies.
The Crude Oil Scheduler will be responsible for the effective and efficient scheduling and coordination of crude oil transportation and logistics. This role involves managing the supply chain of crude oil from production sites to refineries, ensuring timely delivery, and optimizing logistics to minimize costs and maximize efficiency. The Crude Oil Scheduler works closely with various stakeholders including traders, suppliers, transporters, commercial team and refinery operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and Logistics:
- Develop and implement scheduling plans for crude oil movements via pipelines, ships, rail, barges, and trucks.
- Coordinate with production sites, storage facilities, and refineries to ensure smooth and timely delivery of crude oil.
- Monitor and adjust schedules in response to changes in supply and demand, weather conditions, and other logistical challenges that might arise.
- Optimization and Efficiency:
- Analyze transportation and logistics costs to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Optimize schedules to maximize asset utilization and minimize demurrage and other inefficiencies.
- Implement strategies to enhance logistics processes and improve overall supply chain performance.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with traders and commercial team to understand market dynamics and refinery supply needs.
- Align scheduling and purchasing plans and communicate with refinery operations team for planning and projecting upstream supply and downstream production.
- Interact with all suppliers, transporters, terminals, producers, and refinery operations to coordinate and communicate all planning of crude supply.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including shipping companies, inspection companies, terminals, refineries, and pipeline operators.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize scheduling software and tools to track and manage crude oil movements.
- Generate reports on scheduling activities, logistics performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and identify trends and issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in crude oil scheduling, logistics, or related experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in with Microsoft Excel, SAP, or similar software's and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge: General understanding of crude oil supply chain dynamics, transportation modes, and market conditions.
- Communication: Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing scheduling and logistics challenges.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
