Working Student (m/f/d) with Master’s Thesis Option – Knowledge Graphs & AI chez Motius

As Working Student (m/f/d) with Master’s Thesis Option - Knowledge Graphs & AI, you will be part of a cutting-edge project at the intersection of knowledge representation, AI and information retrieval. This position offers the opportunity to write your Master's thesis or complete your IDP. Your research will directly contribute to one of our ongoing projects, with the option to develop your thesis topic around your specific research contributions.

Your Role

• Support our research and development activities in the field of knowledge graphs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and advanced AI systems
• Design and run experiments to test and validate approaches for knowledge graph quality, ontology effects, and reinforcement learning methods
• Collaborate with our team on state-of-the-art methods while contributing to real-world applications
• Take ownership of a defined research project as part of your Master’s thesis or IDP

Your Profile

• Enrolled in a Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
• Strong background in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and AI fundamentals, with solid programming skills in Python and relevant ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Independent, structured way of working combined with curiosity for scientific exploration
• Strong command of English language (both verbal and written), German is a plus
• Interest in at least one of the following research topics:
  • Knowledge base/graph testing and validation
  • Quality estimation of information captured in a knowledge graph
  • Weighted knowledge graphs and RAG
  • Effects of knowledge base ontology on RAG
  • Reinforcement learning / tree search for tree-of-thought generation
