$21.84 to $24.02 hourly.  Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.  Government Center/Viera.  Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Performs experienced technical work providing records management and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 compliance support to the Planning and Development Department.  This position is responsible for responding to public records requests and ensuring that all materials and documents posted on the assigned department’s website and those that are responsive to a public records requests are compliant with Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act.

 

REQUIREMENTS:  Associate’s degree or successful completion of two (2) years [60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours] of college-level coursework in Legal Assisting, Paralegal, Business Administration, Office Administration, Library Science, or a closely related field PLUS three (3) years of experience managing records.  Experience managing public records is preferred.  Additional qualifying experience managing records may be substituted on a year for year basis.  SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must pass the Brevard County typing test at 35 correct words per minute.  In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
