This is a Cactus Wellhead position and is located in Hobbs, NM. 

Rotational Schedule: 20/10 

 

Job Summary: Responsible for all aspects of field service. Assisting field service technicians in safely providing quality, error-free service to all Cactus Wellhead customers. Includes training both in the field and at the facility. Responsible for the active marketing of the Service Department, to increase the customer base through frequent customer contact both in an office environment and in the field. 

Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Practices safe work habits and complies with all quality, safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, programs, and regulations.
  • Responsible for actively and continually recruiting qualified Field Service candidates for their assigned Branch Operations
  • Supervises department personnel including interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, coaching, counseling, and corrective action when required.
  • Acts as liaison between the sales and service departments.
  • Ensures awareness of customer requirements and customer-specific running procedures.
  • Supervises service personnel and provides training in job functions, safety, policies and procedures while assuring compliance.
  • Plans field installations ensuring that proper tools, spares, backup equipment, and personnel are available when needed.
  • Assists in scheduling assignments of Service Technicians to ensure the best match of individual capabilities and competency to project requirements.
  • Assists with logistics, including travel and obtaining additional parts or tools.
  • Tracks and maintains an inventory of service tools and ensures that adequate and necessary maintenance of all service equipment and vehicles is performed.
  • Provides feedback (reports, investigates and implements corrective action) of field problems to the company through preparation and processing of Field Performance Reports.
  • Ensures all company vehicles are well maintained and all necessary repairs are conducted in a timely manner and consistent with company policy.
  • Ensures all service vehicles have the necessary tools and safety equipment needed to perform a service job.
  • Oversees the continual upgrade and inspection of all service tools, to ensure their safety, fitness for purpose and their serviceability.
  • Maintains accurate and current records for vehicles, mileage and service expenses.
  • Reviews all completed Field Service Orders to assure information is accurate and complete prior to invoicing.
  • Performs all functional responsibilities of a Field Serviceman.
  • Special projects or assignments as directed by management.

Education, Training, Experience:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: None Required

Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Working knowledge of Cactus Wellhead Products, Service Documentation and

Record Keeping; Wellhead and Valve Installation, Operation, and Maintenance, Corrective Action and Field Complaint Investigations. Equipment Troubleshooting of Cactus Wellhead and Other OEM Equipment; Customer Relationships and Networking, Customer Service Best Practices. Intermediate Computer Skills, Advanced Mathematical and Language Skills and Advanced Reasoning Ability.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly manage a team of Service personnel. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws.

This position operates in an industrial/field environment. The role requires working in and around manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
  • Work in confined spaces when required
  • Operate heavy equipment and power tools
  • Perform repetitive movements

Environmental Conditions:

  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions
  • Exposure to loud noise levels requiring hearing protection
  • Work in high places and confined spaces
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals
  • Work around moving mechanical parts
  • Work in hot and cold temperatures

  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Participate in regular safety training
  • Complete required safety certifications
  • Comply with all environmental regulations
