About the Role: The AVP of Data Engineering & Emerging Technology will play a critical role in advancing Cambridge’s enterprise data strategy and digital transformation. This position emphasizes leadership above all else—building relationships, fostering collaboration, and cultivating a culture of trust, accountability, and innovation. Success in this role requires high emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and the ability to inspire both direct and indirect reports.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, the AVP will provide strategic oversight of Cambridge’s data platforms and architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance while driving innovation through AI, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies. This role requires balancing visionary strategy with practical execution to deliver measurable business value and support the company’s long-term growth.

What You'll Do:

• Leadership & Team Development: Provide clear direction, mentorship, and support to a team of data engineers and leaders, cultivating a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability.
• Strategic Data Management: Define and implement enterprise data strategies that drive measurable business outcomes, with a focus on governance, data quality, and long-term scalability.
• Data Architecture & Innovation: Guide the development of modern data architectures and solutions, including real-time processing, cloud migration, and high-velocity data streams.
• AI & Advanced Analytics: Champion the adoption of AI, machine learning, and automation to enhance decision-making and deliver predictive insights.
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure all data practices align with regulatory standards and internal governance frameworks, with a focus on security, audit controls, and privacy.
• Enterprise Collaboration: Partner with executives, business leaders, and the enterprise architecture team to align technology and data strategies with Cambridge’s overall business vision.
• Innovation Enablement: Leverage emerging technologies and advanced data capabilities to streamline operations, reduce costs, and create business value.

The ideal candidate will have advanced experience in data engineering, analytics, and emerging technologies, with demonstrated success in leadership roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong background in building and leading teams, with emphasis on relationship building, coaching, and developing future leaders.
• Technical expertise with Microsoft SQL, Snowflake, Python, and modern analytics tools.
• Deep understanding of data governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise data architecture.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business insights.

Cambridge may consider hiring at a more senior level, depending on experience and qualifications.
