This position is responsible for continually assessing the relevance of the various tools, processes, methodologies and reporting practices under TTC’s asset management strategy and recommend and implement changes as necessary to reflect the changing dynamics for Signals/Electrical/Communications Department (SEC).
What You Will Do
- Maintains and updates the various components and strategies of SEC’s asset management strategy to meet asset planning, service and reporting requirements.
- Leads the implementation of tools and technology related initiatives for the Enterprise Asset Management Program.
- Works with departmental counterparts on initiatives that support the Enterprise Asset Management Strategy and Implementation Roadmap.
- Reviews the SEC’s tools and technology requirements on a regular basis (at least annually) and updates the Program plan to reflect substantial changes and/or improvements to Asset Management requirements.
- Supports the ongoing development (configuration and data) of the Enterprise Work Management System.
- Specifies the requirements of SEC’s asset management strategy to stakeholders and adapt the elements of the strategy to changing processes and practices in TTC.
- Assists the department in the implementation of the MAXIMO LAM, GIS software applications, and asset management tools.
- Prepares cost centre, master and asset management schedules and roadmaps.
- Reviews and supports department’s asset management training requirements.
- Assists with reviews, coordination, maintenance and general asset management initiatives as required.
- Assists with the oversight and management of information, operations and budgets for on-going repair, rehabilitation projects, asset inventories, asset condition and instituting best practices.
- Liaises with and provides support to staff in Operations groups, which may require occasional work on weekends and/or off-shifts.
- Contributes to the development and preparation of departmental planning/reporting procedures.
- Works collaboratively with various cost centers to establish levels of service for internal sections and external stakeholders regarding maintenance and state of good repair schedules; Works with other planning positions to ensure alignment of internal/external schedules and annual targets.
- Liaises with assigned sections, other departments and stakeholders in the preparation of asset management plans and to ensure pertinent requirements are completed on time and in alignment with corporate initiatives.
- Prepares and maintains status reports for on-going work activities.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Your educational background will consist of the completion of a university degree in a related Engineering discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Your application will demonstrate that you have project planning and asset management experience in the transit and municipal industry.
- Experience with asset management principles and theories, along with demonstrated asset management experience and tools.
- Asset management experience in preventative and corrective maintenance within the railway/transportation industry along with industry accepted training courses.
- Experience in the analysis of infrastructure, infrastructure planning and its operations.
- Technical knowledge of the TTC’s infrastructure network and associated construction/repair activities, and knowledge of TTC’s budgeting process are assets.
- Knowledge of asset management principles, infrastructure and rehabilitation methods.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies (e.g. Occupational Health & Safety Act, environmental compliance, etc)
- Strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal communications, and technical report writing skills.
- Sound judgement; strong analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives.
