Seasonal Catering Associate chez Murray's Cheese

Position Summary
Murray’s Cheese is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated cheese lover to join our growing Catering Department. The Seasonal Catering Associate will work with a small team in a fast-paced, customer service driven position.  

This role is temporary and will run from approximately 10/6/2025 to 1/2/2026.

Our company is multi-faceted and rapidly expanding, with three retail locations in New York, a cheese-focused restaurant, a robust Wholesale department servicing chefs and restaurants nationwide, an events and education center, an E-Commerce platform, and a national retail partnership with Kroger supermarkets nationwide. What You Do 

• Customer Service: Put the customer first by answering inbound calls and emails, while delivering a memorable, fun experience. Guide the customer through our catering menu offerings by making recommendations that will ensure their event planning is a success!
• Fulfillment: Work with our kitchen team to ensure all orders are communicated and fulfilled properly.
• Schedule: Work with external vendors and courier partners to schedule, execute and track catered events.
• Client Relationships: Build upon and maintain existing client relationships, ensuring return business, and generating customer referrals.
• Administrative: Assist with administrative tasks such as billing, payment information, invoicing, data, and order entry, updating customer profiles, booking deliveries, converting orders and more.

What We Need From You 

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Experience with NetSuite is a plus!
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Ability to work remotely (or Hybrid if necessary) in a quiet environment and answer phone calls from customers.
• Robust and reliable internet connection.
• Strong knowledge of computers and can adapt to new software quickly.
• Experience in food, catering and/or hospitality.
• Strong cheese knowledge is an advantage; willingness to learn is a must!
• Availability Monday-Friday, with flexibility on some weekend coverage and possible Holiday coverage.
  • Time off is restricted during November and December
• Availability for a half-day/limited office hours EST as needed on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
  • Catering is open the day before Thanksgiving.
• Flexibility to support other departments if needed during Q4.
