SUMMARY

The Station Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of the Houston (IAH) cargo station. This role oversees all warehouse, and administrative operations while ensuring strict adherence to aviation industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. The Station Manager is accountable for safety, security, compliance, operational efficiency, and customer service excellence, supporting both internal stakeholders (sales, network operations) and external customers across air, and logistics services.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

 Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to all station personnel, including warehouse, and administrative staff.
  • Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure operational coverage and efficiency.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and corrective actions.
  • Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Foster a safety-focused, customer-driven, and compliance-oriented culture.

 Operational Oversight & Compliance

  • Oversee all receiving, cargo handling, warehouse, in accordance with established SOPs, TSA, FAA, DOT, OSHA, and company safety/security policies.
  • Ensure compliance with cargo claims procedures, aviation security directives, and regulatory standards to mitigate risk and liability.
  • Maintain warehouse, and office facilities in a professional, safe, and well-organized condition.
  • Conduct regular operational meetings to communicate safety updates, compliance changes, and performance expectations.
  • Partner with Amerijet’s compliance, safety, and quality assurance teams to ensure audit readiness and corrective action implementation.

 Business & Customer Service Management

  • Ensure high-quality customer service to internal (sales, network operations) and external clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to achieve assigned revenue goals, including new business development and account retention.
  • Identify operational improvements and revenue opportunities within station activities.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to top accounts and stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting of operational and sales performance metrics.

 PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/MEASUREMENTS;

  • Consistent adherence to company, safety, and governmental compliance standards.
  • Achievement of operational KPIs related to cargo handling, safety, on-time performance, and customer service.
  • Attainment of assigned sales/revenue targets.
  • Accurate and timely completion of required reports and system updates.
  • Development of at least two new recurring accounts per month.
  • Weekly sales/operational plan submitted to regional leadership by established deadlines.
  • Positive audit results and demonstrated regulatory compliance.


Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on management experience in air cargo, freight forwarding, or logistics operations.
  • Equivalent combination of education and industry experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license required; ability to obtain and maintain all airport security clearances (SIDA badge, TSA, CBP approvals).

 Required Knowledge & Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of cargo operations, warehouse management, and aviation safety/compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with TSA, FAA, DOT, OSHA, and IATA regulations governing cargo handling.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, staffing, and cost control.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and industry-related systems (cargo management, compliance tracking).

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to motivate and hold staff accountable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to interpret and apply government regulations, company policies, and technical procedures.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Skilled in preparing reports, business correspondence, and operational plans.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

  • The physical demands of this job are representative of those described above with an ability to react quickly to decisions and coordination of multiple flight loads.  
  • Must have flexibility to work all shifts and schedules as demanded by the department needs.

 

This position does not require much lifting as the norm but one must be able to occasionally lift approximately 30 lbs.

TRAVEL

Ability to travel up to 33% of the time.
