Job Title: Painter
Reports To: Department Management, following the direction of the Team Leader
SHIFT/HOURS: Monday- Friday/2nd shift 7 PM - 3 AM
Hourly Wage: $23.24 per hour, with the ability to earn more
We are seeking a skilled Paintline Painter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality coatings and finishes to various aluminum extruded products in our state-of-the-art facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing an exceptional finished product. You will work closely with a team to ensure that all painting operations are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards. Your expertise in different painting techniques, coupled with your understanding of coatings and their applications, will be essential to maintaining the quality and durability of our aluminum products. WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as required.
- Mix and apply paints, primers, and finishes according to specifications and product guidelines.
- Operate paintline equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate records of paint inventory and usage during the process.
- Conduct quality checks on painted products to ensure adherence to design specifications and finish requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the painting process.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the qualifications, knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in painting or coatings is a plus.
- Experience as a painter, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
- Understanding of various paint types and application methods.
- Familiarity with paintline equipment and machinery operations.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform manual labor as required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must pass company background check and drug screen
