DnA Overview
The Data and Analytics (DnA) team is a newly established function that integrates the Data Integrity and Portfolio Analytics teams. DnA plays a critical role in supporting key functions across the organization, including Investment, Investor Relations (IR), Core Portfolio Management (Core PM), and Fund Finance. At its core, the DnA team plays foundational role in Pantheon’s data ecosystem, ensuring accurate ingestion and integrity of Pantheon’s core data —including client, managed fund, deal, investment, and asset data. This disciplined approach to data stewardship powers actionable portfolio analytics that are essential to:
- Enhancing the investment decision-making process
- Improving transparency and engagement with clients
- Enabling data-driven portfolio and financial oversight
By centralizing and reinforcing data governance and analytical capabilities, DnA serves as a strategic enabler, delivering insights that drive performance and operational excellence across the investment lifecycle.
Purpose of Position
The motivated Associate will join DnA's Portfolio Analytics team to support the firm-wide analytics capability for Pantheon’s evergreen / semi-liquid vehicles as well as single asset GP-led secondaries and co-investments. The role requires private markets knowledge coupled with semi-liquid fund (40 Act, SICAV) expertise who specialize in using data and analytics to drive better investment decisions and insights.
The role partners closely with various teams firm-wide, such as Core Portfolio Management, Investments, IR, Technology, Portfolio Data and Valuations, Fund Finance, to support investment, risk and distribution teams’ evidence-based decisions on portfolio construction, liquidity pacing and performance storytelling. The role will require working with Technology and Data Modelling teams to systemize the analytics across the firm to build both tactical analyses and strategic solutions to better equip our investment teams as well as investors. This is a great opportunity to join a diverse, collaborative, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- You will perform fund‑ and asset‑level analytics — value driver analysis, portfolio composition analysis, risk-return analysis, market benchmarking. Execute deal‑level attribution and sector analytics to separate market vs. idiosyncratic return drivers.
- Produce scenario, risk‑concentration and macro‑trend analyses by partnering with Investment, Core Portfolio Management and Research teams.
- Maintain rolling NAV and cash‑flow projections; feed outputs into pacing, liquidity and volatility reviews by partnering with Core Portfolio Management teams.
- Help systemise data pipelines (ETL) for analytical dashboards in partnership with Technology and DnA teams.
- Deliver end‑to‑end single-asset analytics: run back‑testing and forward‑looking NPV/IRR/ROE models, drill into value drivers, scenarios, stress tests, order‑of‑effects and optimal‑exit timing; forecast distribution waterfalls and hedge effectiveness.
- Power portfolio decisions: supply rolling NAV & cash‑flow projections and post‑mortem analyses versus original underwriting to arm Portfolio Management and Deal teams with data‑driven insights.

Essential background and skillset:
- 5+ years' experience in private markets with focus on analytics, portfolio management, or risk.
- Deep exposure to semi-liquid products (40 Act and SICAV and open-ended structures); coupled with direct investment expertise.

- Ability to translate complex analytics into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
- Experience in using a diverse analytics toolkit such as Excel, Powerpoint, Tableau/Power BI, Python
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Econometrics, Data Science or related field
- Financial qualification (CFA, CAIA, FRM, ACA) or working towards one of these qualifications
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to work and deliver with tight deadlines.
- Innovative and entrepreneurial attitude. Comfortable taking initiative.
