Job Summary:
Responsible for preparing meals by following Borculo Anew’s recipes. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff members. Prepares food in a fast-paced environment. Work may include operating a grill, oven, fryer, and sharp utensils. Previous experience in a team environment and various cooking methods preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adheres to Borculo Anew’s menu.
- Follows food health codes and safety procedures.
- Setting up, cleaning, and organizing workstations.
- Prepares ingredients for shift; washing vegetables, chopping, dressings
- Assembles 3 sinks for the shift to sanitizing and clean utensils and work stations with.
- Taking orders from phone or other team members
- Prepare orders according to food health and safety standards
- Recommends ideas for specials or seasonal dishes.
- Ability to handle multiple orders at one time.
- Has the capacity to monitor and complete multiple food orders while new orders are being placed.
- Ensure each guest’s order is correct and delivered in a timely manner.
- Observes and follows the FIFO method (first in first out) when storing food.
- Reports to the manager when stock and food supplies are low and need to be ordered.
- Assists other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High School or Equivalent preferred
- Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in dish washing, a waiter/waitress, cook, or chef is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to pass food safety training as needed or required.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and senior level management.
- Legally able to work in an establishment which sells alcohol.
- Ability to maintain good attendance & performance habits.
- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
- Comply with the company’s safety, quality, environmental, and HR policies at all times.
- Must be able to work early mornings, as well as afternoons, weekends and holidays.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Physical endurance to stand for entire shift.
- Operate in a store or office environment.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel to lift objects of 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to use ladders.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
