Position Type: Full-time Exempt

Compensation: $96,120 - $120,380 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the accounting team (up to 10 staff), including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Conduct staff evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and establish performance goals.
  • Delegate daily tasks and projects, ensuring quality control and staff productivity.
  • Reinforce company policies, procedures, and standards within the team.
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain the general ledger structure and develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
  • Establish and monitor strong internal controls across all departments.
  • Approve intra-bank transfers, ACH payments, and other financial transactions.
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Review, interpret, and present financial results to owners, managers, and auditors.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor the company’s annual budget.
  • Assist department leaders with budgeting needs and provide relevant financial data.
  • Maintain and update weekly cash flow projections.
  • Collaborate with finance leaders to ensure sufficient liquidity for all company expenses.
  • Complete monthly borrowing base reporting for banking partners.
  • Work with the funding coordinator to request loan advances or cure deficits as needed.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process, serving as the primary contact for external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations.
  • Provide all necessary information and support to auditors for a successful audit.
  • Partner closely with department managers and the executive leadership team to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of open communication, accountability, and collaboration across the organization.
  • Uphold and promote the company's core hospitality standards and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proven experience with the full month-end close process, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities or supervisory experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification.
  • MBA, MSF (Master of Science in Finance), or related advanced degree.
  • 2–3 years of direct supervisory experience, including performance management and team development.
  • Experience in real estate development, hospitality, or property management.
  • Experience with specific ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Yardi) is a plus.
  • A proven ability to build collaborative relationships with executives, department managers, and external partners (auditors, bankers).
