- Oversees the daily operations of the campus, ensuring a supportive, safe, and engaging school climate; implements evidence-based practices that strengthen relationships, belonging, and instructional rigor.
- Supports the implementation of school-wide policies, procedures, and initiatives aligned with district goals and in compliance with federal, state and local requirements; works in accordance with all collective bargaining agreements
- Actively collaborates and communicates with the High School Principal, the Career and Technology Center, Central Office and administrators in PreK-8 to ensure compliance and alignment with district-wide instructional programming.
- Serves as a member of the district-level Teaching and Learning Team, regularly attending meetings and collaborating with Central Office administrators to design, coordinate and evaluate PK-12 pathway programs of study aligned to state standards, local labor market needs, and evidence-based CTE/Career Readiness frameworks; shares artifacts and coaches feeder schools to build the PreK–12 pipeline.
- Provides instructional leadership and professional development to teachers and staff to enhance teaching and learning strategies with an emphasis on implementing effective project-based, inquiry-driven, and interdisciplinary instruction.
- Supervises and evaluates staff in a timely, fair and equitable manner following district procedures for formal evaluations, differentiated supervision and instructional walkthroughs, using the results to offer actionable feedback and professional learning opportunities to improve performance.
- Ensures the effective implementation of the curriculum and use of District-approved resources, including technology and digital learning tools to enhance education.
- Designs and implements systems to collect, monitor, communicate and respond to key college and career readiness metrics including, but not limited to: pathway enrollment/retention, course success, work-based learning placement/quality, dual enrollment credits, industry credentials, Act 158 measures, graduation, and post-secondary outcomes.
- Engages teachers and staff in data analysis cycles (attendance, on-track, course performance, progress toward credentials, etc) to identify learning gaps/barriers and drive timely Tier 1–3 supports to ensure academic success of all students.
- Ensures that core team protocols are followed to support all students in need of academic, behavioral, and/or attendance interventions through multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), Student Assistance Program (SAP) and/or other support systems.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with local employers, higher education institutions, advisory boards and community organizations to deliver a continuum of work-based learning and career exploration opportunities to students including, but not limited to: internships, mentorships, job shadowing, industry certifications, academic competitions and hands-on learning experiences, to support student success beyond high school.
- Promotes industry-recognized credentials and capstone experiences linked to local high-demand sectors.
- Actively engages in data-driven systems of continuous school improvement including, but not limited to: assisting in the development and implementation of the school improvement plan, monitoring and evaluating progress toward achieving school improvement goals and student outcomes, revising school improvement goals, outcomes, and instructional practices based on data analysis.
- Assists the Principal to ensure transparent, strategic and equitable use of resources (ie. time, human capital, budget/financial resources, etc.) to meet instructional goals and support student and staff needs.
- Collaborates with the human resources department to recruit, hire, onboard and retain high quality staff that meets the diverse needs of students.
- Designs and utilizes a system of open communication that provides for the timely, responsible sharing of information to, from, and with high school staff, students, families, and stakeholders in various formats through different media.
- Encourages and welcomes families/guardians into the school and actively seeks ways in which to meaningfully engage them in student learning and decision-making.
- Attends and is visible at school- and community-based programs, competitions, shows and events throughout the year, both during and outside of regular school hours.
- Displays high standards of ethics, honesty, integrity, and confidentiality in interactions with students, staff, and stakeholders.
- Routinely participates in professional development for his/her own professional growth and keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession.

Position Goal: | The Associate Principal leads the District’s Innovation Academy to deliver academically rigorous, work-connected learning with high expectations for every student and adult. The role is responsible for ensuring quality career pathway programming, equitable access and outcomes, strong postsecondary transitions (dual enrollment/industry credentials), and a positive, safe, engaging and culturally responsive school climate. Reporting to the High School Principal and collaborating closely with the Office of Teaching and Learning, this leader also helps coordinate and expand PreK–12 career pathway design and implementation district-wide. |
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises all professional and support staff involved in instructional programs, as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Appropriate Master’s Degree required; Minimum 5 years teaching or related experience at the high school level preferred; Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required, with more than 5 years preferred. Teaching and/or supervisory experience in large and/or urban public school settings and/or career pathways/CTE is preferred. Experience launching or improving career pathways, academies, or early college/dual enrollment programs is also preferred.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time (12-month) exempt position. Salary and benefits consistent with the District’s approved Compensation and Benefits Plan and/or Act 93 Agreement.
