Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant

- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio Market - Hotel office in Retail Banking Centers; may work remotely on occasion
- Status: Full-Time Hourly Non-Exempt
- Hours: 40-hour work week; schedule as determined by Mortgage Loan Officer and production target
- Compensation: Base salary and incentive compensation plan
Position Purpose:
LCNB National Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant within our Cincinnati Market. This position is responsible for supporting the mortgage lending process, ensuring smooth and efficient operations from application to closing. The role involves assisting loan officers by managing documentation, communicating with clients and coordinating with various internal and external parties to facilitate timely loan processing. This position helps maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and LCNB policies, contributing to a positive customer experience. The MLO Assistant is essential in helping the mortgage team achieve their goals of delivering accurate, timely, and customer-focused mortgage solutions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist loan officers in gathering and organizing necessary documentation from clients for loan applications
- Communicate with clients to provide updates, request additional information, and answer basic inquiries regarding loan status
- Coordinate with underwriters, processors, and other internal departments to ensure timely loan processing and compliance
- Maintain accurate records of loan files and ensure all documentation meets LCNB and regulatory standards
- Supports loan officers in preparing loan disclosures, agreements, and other paperwork required for loan closings
- Schedule appointments and follow-ups with clients and other stakeholders involved in the mortgage process
- Monitor loan application progress and proactively identify and resolve potential issues or delays
Required Qualification:
- 2+ years of customer service or administration experience preferably within the mortgage or financial service industry
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working directly with mortgage loan officers or in mortgage lending
- Experience understanding the mortgage lending process and terminology
- Ability to think, reason and communicate clearly
- The ability to observe and identify details at close range
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills
- Familiarity with loan origination systems and mortgage compliance regulations
- Ability to thrive in a high volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain positive and effective relationships with others, both internally and externally
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with associates across the bank, as well as third-party agencies
- Strong integrity and work ethic
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work outside of the office 50%+ of the time
- Ability to travel to and from bank offices and third-party locations
- Occasionally move/traverse to access files and equipment
- Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment
