OVERVIEW

At Lavazza North America, the Manufacturing Technologies Manager will play a key role within our Manufacturing department at our West Chester, PA site. The Manufacturing Technologies Manager will be responsible for implementing lead manufacturing principles to achieve continuous improvement processes and lead the activities related to the commercialization of new products. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the activities related to the commercialization of new products collaborating with research and development (R&D) to lead efforts to scale up the product in the plant
  • Leads weekly industrialization meetings and the monthly improvement meeting, involving all relevant stakeholders (R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, etc.).
  • Plans all factory trials, scheduling, and coordinating available production spaces with Supply Chain.
  • Manages the Trial Database, collecting data needed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Test Protocol creation with a particular focus in efficiency, scraps, process capability, instruments, and methods.
  • Partners with the Quality and R&D department to integrate the Q-Make score and review the Cp and Cpk indicators.
  • Coordinates the activities of Manufacturing Technologies and shares best practice together with counterparts in HQ.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a Engineering or related technical field, preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of related work experience including 2 years management (supervisor or manager level)
  • Lean Six Sigma, Green belt or higher, preferred
  • SAP knowledge would be advantageous
  • Project management and process safety management experience
  • Experience identifying risks and leading the development of action plans to improve processes and systems.
  • In depth knowledge of plant organization, packaging factory, packaging materials, brewing systems, and raw materials
  • Demonstrates excellent attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to facilitate and work within a team environment
