SUMMARY 

The Junior Accountant provides entry-level support to the Finance/Accounting department. This position is responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The Junior Accountant works under the supervision of senior accounting staff and plays a key role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Record and post routine journal entries in the general ledger.
  • Assist with daily cash receipts processing, deposits, and reconciliations.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice entry, statement preparation, and payment tracking.
  • Help with payroll data entry and reconciliations under supervision.
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting files and documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Perform reconciliations for bank statements, credit card activity, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Generate standard financial reports as requested by accounting leadership.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the finance team as needed.
  • Support audit preparation by organizing and providing requested financial information.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller, Accounting Manager, or CFO.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferred. 
  • 0–2 years of accounting experience; internships, academic projects, or related administrative work preferred.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, MIP, or ERP systems preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under supervision.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
