AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
We are seeking a skilled Multi-Level Security (MLS) Systems Administrator to provide technical administration of computer systems supporting the Exodus program.
As an MLS Systems Administrator at AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will:
- Install, configure, optimize, test, and maintain servers, storage, software, and network devices.
- Monitor system integrity, availability, logs, backups, and resource utilization; issue daily reports and take corrective action when needed.
- Manage user accounts, software installations, license compliance, and security patching.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Procure and repair components including government furnished property (GFP) items.
- Detect, report, and mitigate security incidents in line with the Exodus Incident Response Plan (IRP).
- Install and manage perimeter defenses (IDS, firewalls, sensors), updating rules to block malicious traffic.
- Collaborate with privileged users to resolve cybersecurity challenges.
- Ensure compliance with DoD 5205.07 SAP Policy, JSIG, and other IS security requirements.
- Support RMF Assess & Authorize (A&A) activities with the ISSO/ISSM.
- Provide integration support for interconnected customer systems.
- Maintain authorized configurations per Exodus configuration management policy.
- Draft and test fail-over procedures to support continuity at alternate sites.
- Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SAP access
- Bachelor’s degree, or five additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 5-7 years of relevant IT experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification and Solaris OS credentials
- 3+ years of Solaris OS administration, with at least 3 years of Trusted Extensions experience
Additional Skills for Success
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows system administration
- Experience with network security devices and perimeter defenses
- Knowledge of enterprise storage, backup, and recovery systems
- Experience supporting cybersecurity incident response and vulnerability management
- Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), JSIG, and SAP security requirements
- Experience with configuration management and ITIL processes
- Experience with IT hardware lifecycle support, procurement, and vendor coordination
