The infrastructure Platform Engineering team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core systems that keep QRT’s research and trading platforms running reliably at scale. The team ensures that infrastructure is highly automated, observable, and resilient, enabling researchers and traders to focus on their work without disruption. Working closely with quantitative researchers, developers, and other engineering teams, the group provides the technical backbone of QRT’s global operations while continuously improving the performance and reliability of production systems.
Your future role within QRT:
- Support the operational reliability of infrastructure and automation systems that underpin QRT’s research and trading platforms
- Monitor automated server build pipelines and observe critical services
- Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure platforms
- Gain hands-on exposure to production infrastructure and automation at scale
- Collaborate with senior engineers and technical leaders to develop your expertise
- Build a strong foundation for future roles in infrastructure, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering
Your present skill set:
- Comfortable using Linux systems in a technical or support context
- Able to read and reason about code, logs, and automation logic
- Aware of key infrastructure components such as DNS, databases, and monitoring tools
- Exposure to observability concepts (metrics, logs, alerts), even at a basic level
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and configuration-driven systems
- Familiar with modern software engineering practices (e.g. version control, testing, modular design)
- Strong hands-on problem-solving ability - methodical, curious, and resilient when debugging
- Motivated to learn, build real-world experience, and contribute to a high-performance team
- Preferred:
- Scripting experience with Python or Golang
- Familiarity with Terraform and / or Ansible
- Experience with VMware, KVM, Nutanix, or Red Hat Virtualization (RHV)
- Experience with managing services in AWS (EC2, EKS etc)
- Familiarity with modern network topologies and configurations and network security devices
