Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Part-Time HR Generalist / Health & Safety Coordinator to support our Human Resources and Health & Safety functions. This role will focus on end-to-end recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new hires, while also assisting with Health & Safety training and training record management. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and candidate selection.
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation programs for new hires.
- Coordinate and deliver employee training sessions as required.
- Maintain HR records, employee files, and HRIS data with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with employee relations, policy interpretation, and day-to-day HR inquiries.
Health & Safety
- Deliver Health & Safety training to new hires during onboarding.
- Maintain training records and track employee progress to ensure compliance.
- Assist with scheduling refresher training sessions and following up on required certifications.
- Support safety awareness initiatives in partnership with supervisors and managers.
General Administration
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other HR and H&S communications.
- Support audits and inspections by providing accurate training documentation.
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to address staffing and training needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR generalist or HR/Health & Safety combined role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, and training processes.
- Experience delivering safety-related training and maintaining training records.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Working Conditions
- 30 hours per week, schedule to be determined.
- On-site role within a manufacturing facility environment.
- May require occasional flexibility for training or special projects.
Pay
- $23 hourly
